The visit comes in the backdrop of Nepal’s objections to the recently released “2023 edition of the standard map of China”, released on 28 August 2023 by China’s Ministry of Natural Resources. Ministry of Foreign Affairs has noted that “Nepal unequivocally believes that this map must be respected by our neighbours as well as the international community.”
