India’s Maoists: Business as usual
It has been business as usual for Naxalites of the Communist Party of India (Maoist), even as the country has been fighting the challenge of COVID-19 pandemic. Incidents of violence by the Maoists, efforts at shoring–up their arsenal and extortion, or financing their armed struggle continue to be reported from various parts of the country.

US Naval Transformation Challenges PLA Navy
Numerous commentaries and essays have argued and concluded that the military gap between the US and China is closing and the numerical naval balance between the two Pacific powers has converged. The PLA Navy is growing rapidly, and in the last five years (2014-2019) it added 52 vessels.1 According to US Office of Naval intelligence (ONI), PLA Navy’s current strength is pegged at 360 vessels which is projected to grow to 400 warships by 2025, and 425 by 2030.2

For over a decade the biggest problem and misfortune of the Libyans has been the competition among the rival powers. COVID-19 in Tajikistan: From Denial to Full-scale Crisis
Despite being surrounded by the countries with positive cases of coronavirus, the Tajik Government had consistently denied the existence of the virus until April 30 when 15 cases were reported. This announcement was made when the World Health Organization (WHO) decided to send a team to investigate the Dushanbe’s claims of coronavirus free status. As of June 10, 2020, Tajikistan has more than 4,500 positive cases with a record of 48 deaths.1 Currently, Tajikistan ranks first among the Central Asian countries in the mortality rate from COVID-19.
