Visit of Delegation from the Vivekananda International Foundation (VIF) to China

A VIF Delegation comprising of Director, Dr. Arvind Gupta, Lt Gen Ravi Sawhney, Ambassador Anil Wadhwa and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) representative at Shanghai, Sh Madhav Sharma, visited China from 16th-18th of July. The Delegates interacted with representatives of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, China Institute of International Studies, Peking University, China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ethnic Minority Groups’ Development Research Institute under the State Council of the people's Republic of China (PRC) and China Institute of Contemporary International Relations.

The Delegation also interacted with the Indian Ambassador to China, Sh Gautam Bambawale, and the Director of the Global Times newspaper, and visited Huawei technological education centre.

Wide ranging discussions were held on bilateral, regional and international issues, including China’s Belt and Road Initiative, the structure of India studies in China, ways to enhance India-China trade and investments, cultural cooperation and issues of international importance.
