Ease of Doing Business with DRDO - New Initiatives

On 19th September 2022, Vivekananda International Foundation and DRDO (Defence Research and Development Organisation) held the fourth edition of the talks by eminent persons from DRDO. In this edition the speaker presenting was Shri Sangam Sinha, O/S & DG R&M and his topic was "Ease of Doing Business with DRDO : New Initiatives". He covered the following aspects:

(a) Initiatives by DRDO for facilitation to industry and ease of doing business
with DRDO

(b) Implementation of DRDO Procurement Manual 2020 with a focus on
simplifying internal procedures and processes for faster execution of R&D
projects.

(c) Provisions to incentivise and provide impetus to the growth of indigenous
defence industry, MSMEs and Startups.

(d) Nil ToT Fee for DcPP/PA/DP, minimal (5%) ToT Fee for other industries and
various other steps.

(e) Development cum Production partner concept has been brought into shorten
the transfer of technology.

(f) Involvement of domestic industries during development cycle for faster
realisation.

Previously there have been three interactions in which eminent and distinguished speakers from DRDO had given presentations to the think tanks, industry, startups, military, and civil society. These presentations are towards contributing to the strategic and technology environment, the first was given by Chairman DRDO, the second by Shri. Hari Babu Srivastava, Outstanding Scientist and DG TM (Technology Management), DRDO and the third one by Shri Atul D. Rane, Outstanding Scientist and DG BrahMos, DRDO.
