The International Court of Justice (ICJ) on July 17 declared by a majority verdict that Pakistan has violated the Vienna Convention and urged Islamabad to review and reconsider the judgment in the case of former Indian Navy official Kulbhushan Jadhav. The ICJ also rejected Pakistan’s objection to India’s application to the court to take up the issue of Mr. Jadhav who was given a death sentence by a military court in Pakistan in 2017.Click here to read... A day after US President Donald Trump welcomed the arrest of Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD) chief Hafiz Saeed by Pakistan, saying “great pressure” was exerted over Islamabad in the last two years to find him, the House Foreign Affairs Committee Thursday, in a reply to Trump’s tweet, said that Pakistan was not searching for him for 10 years and he was living freeling in the country before his arrest. In rebuke to Trump, US Congress blocks Saudi arms sales

The US House voted Wednesday to block USD 8.1 billion in arms sales to Saudi Arabia and other allies, a rebuke of Donald Trump that will likely lead to a veto by the president. Lawmakers, many of whom are outraged with the kingdom over Riyadh's role in the murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi last year, approved three resolutions that would prevent the controversial sales announced under emergency measures earlier this year by Trump.Click here to read... China gifts warship to Sri Lanka

China has gifted a warship to Sri Lanka, in the latest sign of its deepening military cooperation with the strategically located island nation in the Indian Ocean. Also, China's rolling-stock manufacturer has announced that it would shortly deliver nine "new type" of diesel trains to Sri Lanka. India cuts population rate by improving conditions for women

India has reduced its population growth rate by improving the conditions for women, according to Paulomi Tripathi, a first secretary in India's UN Mission. According to the World Bank, the fertility rate for Indian women has steadily come down, from 3.31 children per woman in 2000 to 2.3 in 2017, just above the replacement level of 2.2.Click here to read...
