Modi, Trump, Abe to hold first trilateral meeting at G-20 summit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, US President Donald Trump and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will be holding a rare and their first trilateral meeting on the sidelines of the G-20 summit in Argentina’s Buenos Aires later this week.

The trilateral was announced by US national security adviser John Bolton at a White House news briefing on Tuesday along with other world leaders that President Trump will meet separately on the sidelines of the summit. It includes a working dinner with China’s Xi Jinping to thrash out a trade deal, which has looked increasingly improbable.Click here to read... [2]

State-run Chinese TV excludes PoK from Pakistan

China’s state-run CGTN Television has for the first time excluded Pak-occupied Kashmir (PoK) from Pakistan’s map while it reported last Friday’s terror attack on a consulate in Pakistan. It is not known if this was a deliberate move by China amid the momentum generated through highlevel contacts between New Delhi and Beijing in 2018. India dismisses Pakistan ‘invite’ to PM Modi for Saarc meet as ploy

India dismissed as “posturing” a Pakistan foreign office announcement on Tuesday that it would “ invite” PM Narendra Modi to a Saarc summit in Islamabad. “India is not a special invitee that Pakistan has the discretion to invite us. India is integral to the Saarc process,” a senior government official said. “The date for a Saarc summit is finalised with the consent of all members. Khaleda Zia barred from Bangladesh polls

A top court on Tuesday ruled that a person jailed for more than two years cannot contest an election, effectively ruining former Bangladesh Prime Minister Khaleda Zia’s chance to participate in the December 30 polls. Attorney-general Mahbubey Alam said the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) chairperson, who is convicted in two graft cases, “is disqualified from taking part in the upcoming elections”.Click here to read... Trump says doesn’t believe own government’s climate warning
