Considering the range, reach and impact, it could very well be asserted that the role of artillery in warfare is paramount. From Panipat (1526) to Kargil (1999), the Indian subcontinent has time and again witnessed the efficacy of artillery. Warfare, undoubtedly evolves. However, certain components of warfare, perhaps remain as salient features and persist across space and time.
