Q. Mradul Pundhir asked : In face of the recent controversies surrounding defence procurement and even many such cases earlier too, will the constitution of board of experts in all defence purchases be a possible option to overcome the issues?

Defence procurement is a very complicated process. The government, learning from precious experiences, upgrades the procurement process periodically. The Defence procurement process of 2016 has been upgraded and amended till 31 Mar 2019.

The defence procurement is done in very large variety of equipment's involving all the three services. One board of experts will not be able to perform this task.
