Mr. D.P. Singh has 27 years of varied experience representing the Government, the public sector as well as private entities. He is now the Founder & Senior Partner of the firm Arthe Law. Mr. Singh, in his capacity as the Additional Advocate General for the States of Punjab and Haryana, has appeared on behalf of the two states before the Supreme Court of India as also the High Court of Punjab & Haryana. During his tenure, he has represented and advised various Public Sector Undertakings, autonomous institutions and Government Corporations, departments and authorities.
Mr. Singh has developed a deep-rooted understanding of the functioning, decision making process, as well as circumstances in which the Government and public sector authorities execute their public duties and the issues that arise in the said contexts. He has also successfully advised public authorities and functionaries on the legal issues arising in the process of performance of their responsibilities and has developed strategies to minimize risks associated with the execution of such responsibilities.
Mr. Singh has contributed to and opined on various legislations – proposed and notified – during his stint as Additional Advocate General for the states of Punjab & Haryana, including the Information Age Crimes Bill, 2002. He has also contributed substantially to the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016. He is currently empanelled with the Competition Commission of India (“CCI”) and also represents government agencies such as the Central Bureau of Investigation.
In the course of his career, Mr. Singh worked with the Attorney General of the State of California, and was felicitated by the California Senate for his outstanding contributions in the field of Cyber Laws.
