Pakistan asks India to share Kishanganga water data: Dawn

Pakistan has asked India to immediately share the data showing inflow and discharge of water at the Kishanganga dam and water flows in different rivers. It has also sought dates for inspection of the 330MW hydroelectric project that India had agreed to during a two-day meeting held in August in Lahore between Indus water commissioners of the two countries. “We recently asked Indian authorities for Indus waters in writing to give us dates for inspection of the Kishanganga dam as soon as possible. Through the letter, we have also pressed Indian authorities to immediately share the data concerning flows of water at the river and releases/discharges, in/outflows at the dam with us under the relevant provisions of the Indus Water Treaty,” Pakistan’s Commissioner for Indus Waters Syed Muhammad Mehr Ali Shah told Dawn on Thursday. Prince’s Plan For Afghanistan Isn’t Happening: Votel

Neither the Afghan government nor the US military believes in Erik Prince’s plan to privatize the war in Afghanistan, the commander of US Central Command Gen. Joseph Votel said on Thursday, as quoted in a report by Task & Purpose. Erik Prince, founder and former CEO of Blackwater security company, has held numerous interviews with the media over the past few weeks and just late last month he spoke to TOLOnews about his plans to privatize the war. He said his forces could change the situation in the country within six months. Defending his plan, he said: “Well, I would say six months after the program is fully ramped up, you have a very different situation on the ground, I will commit to that,” said Prince. Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli, who returned Kathmandu on Thursday after wrapping up a long engagement in the United States and Costa Rica, was flooded with questions over growing dissatisfaction within the Nepal Communist Party, in a chaotic press conference at the airport that more or less sums up the current state within the ruling party. Oli’s role as the party co-chairman and the prime minister has been increasingly questioned by senior party leaders, some of whom have accused him of limiting his leadership to a small faction, failing to govern efficiently, and displaying authoritarian tendencies.
