Air Chief Marshal Srinivasapuram Krishnaswamy served as the 19th Chief of Air Staff from December 2001 to December 2004. He distinguished himself in combat during the 1965 India-Pakistan war and went on to specialise in Electronic Warfare (EW). In fact, he had the unique distinction of having raised and commanded the first EW Squadron of the IAF. Since his retirement, Krishnaswamy has kept himself occupied with the discourse on defence and strategic Issues. Recently, he helped prepare a report by a Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) taskforce on national security and terrorism.
